Twenty large-format prints made for Abilene’s tenth anniversary.
Abilene is my refuge in Rochester for great live music and good people, and I’ve made screen-printed posters for a lot of the acts that came through. For the bar’s tenth anniversary, owner Danny invited me to design one for the headliner, JD McPherson.
I went big: a large-format, three-layer screen print. A press photo of JD by Joshua Black Wilkins, a high-contrast shot of the bar, and bold white type on top. Twenty prints, and Danny kept ten.
