Every so often a piece lets me use every skill I have and teach myself one more. I made the letterforms myself with 3D printing, CNC routing, and laser cutting. Then I taught myself the electronics: I designed the circuit boards, had them fabricated, assembled and wired them to the LEDs and an ultrasonic sensor, and programmed the Arduino that runs them.
The words light up based on where you stand. From twelve feet to four feet away, HOPE glows blue: eight years of Obama. In the last four feet, NOPE glows red: four years of Trump.
