Context
Five creative businesses sharing a Rochester studio building.
Status
Identity extended from the brand to the building exterior.
Five creative businesses with very different practices moved into an industrial building at 510 State Street in Rochester, just north of High Falls, ready to grow. I was the group’s typography and branding person. I proposed the name Made On State and branded the project, from the identity to the building’s exterior.
My own studio moved in with it: the design computers, the screen-printing setup, and the vinyl cutter, so client work and personal work were a few steps apart.
The best part was the community. Five studios meant someone always nearby to talk business with, give feedback, or lend a hand on the next project. That’s what made it a hub.
